It was at Bab Ilo, on a warm night in June 2018, that this "Night of the 13th Moon" occurred. The Bab Ilo, now legendary club of the North of Paris, club-resistant (one of the lasts…) which still welcomes sometimes - between the 4 walls of its tiny but warm cellar - the freest musics that the Parisian scene still counts.
On this night of the 13th moon, the first and almost fortuitous meeting was held between these three musicians who experimented for the first time together.
It seems important to us that the LFDS Records’ collection, in that it wishes itself a contemporary image of the Parisian sound creation, takes into account this inherent dimension to our musical practices. The pure jam, the unprecedented meeting and the total improvisation constitute some of the sources of the musics we defend, related to all the traditions of Jazz and therefore Free Jazz - in its most raw, experimental and unbridled dimension which seems to appear to us again in these some engraved notes.

Received my copy of the second pressing today, and it is stunning.
Flat, centered, dead quiet surfaces, and shockingly good sound.
A triumph of craftsmanship.
Well worth the wait.
And the music, of course, is an incredible contemporary Chicago celebration. mats gunnars
