"One Sh0t o 'Mezcal para el Señor Eric Dolphy" could be the meeting between the eccentric genius of the immense saxophonist and the very rich Mexican tradition of the fanfares. In any case, it was one of the many chemical reactions that occurred in me when I found myself on these Mesoamerican lands, between the Dolphy which was part of my cultural baggage and these fascinating popular fanfares that burst my eardrums for the first time.
